September through May, Thunder River Theatre Company comes alive with four MainStage productions, ranging from groundbreaking, innovative new plays to revitalized classics, offering our patrons a diverse and vibrant repertoire. It is our mission to explore the human condition through inspired theatre and creative artistry.

Experience thought-provoking conversations and inspiring ideas that dive deep into the individual life journeys of our keynote speakers at TRTC’s Thunderchat. Featuring distinguished voices from diverse fields throughout the industry, Thunderchat sparks engaging dialogue, broadens perspectives, and connects our community through the power of storytelling.

This is a brand new partnership between Thunder River Theatre Company and El Dorado Spirits & Legends. Pink to Black is a distinctive musical experience that combines the power of music and the magic of theatre to transform the TRTC black box theatre into an epic venue for every concert.

Entering its fifth year, this successful program has grown tremendously by supporting new works by Colorado playwrights. Throughout the year, we receive plays from all over the state, and one play is selected for a week-long workshop with a director and a group of actors, keeping thedevelopment of the playwright’s full-length play at the center of every decision. At the end of the week, we hold a staged reading for our patrons, followed by a talk-back with questions developed by the playwright. We have developed plays by Kristin Carlson, William Missouri Downs, Luke Sorge, Josh Hartwell, and Matthew Schneck.

Twice a year, local talent dazzles audiences with an intimate evening of toe-tapping songs and spirited storytelling. Our Signature Cabaret Series is an intimate performance developed around a particular theme in the performer’s life, combining music, song, and storytelling. We believe that by honoring the truest style of cabaret, we create a connection with our patrons, which allows us to explore a wide range of genres and songs.

Since Thunder River Theatre Company’s inception, community partnerships has been at the forefront of many of our creative decisions. Some recent partnerships include UpstART Theatre, BenFeng Music Productions, Theatre SilCo, Curious Theatre Company, SOL Theatre Company, Carbondale Arts, VOICES, KDNK Community Access Radio, Crystal Theatre Alliance and so many more.
